Needs some contrast (a navy sweater and/or dark socks), but this is nearly my aesthetic. Wish I could pull off the hair. This completes tonight’s Sartorialist deep dive.
I’d like to invest in more shoes that feel softer, maybe slightly cartoonish — suede is a good fabric for this. Switching in chunky laces. These ridiculous McNairys, basically. It’s too easy for sneakers to be boring and for dress shoes to be grotesque. This guy’s are fun.
Another great Sartorialist shot. Get a face as handsome and sure of itself as this guy’s and you, too, can wear a goofy-ass baby-blue jacket with bad lapels. And his shirt collar! And the wrinkles! He knows exactly what he’s doing.
By contrast, you have this guy, with his careful hair and his club collar and ridiculous belt buckle. I aspire to give a number of fucks somewhere in between.
Toggle coats are too showy for me but green is such a crucial color. It would say enough even with just buttons — probably more. The hat doesn’t actually look good but it works as self-effacement for the jacket. (via the Sartorialist)
