yOya’s been one of my favorite L.A. bands for years now, and certainly the one I’m the most shocked hasn’t blown up into pop stardom yet: their music, an inspiring blend of electronics, acoustic guitars and harmonies cited in the Wikipedia entry for “hair-raising,” should have them opening for Coldplay and crushing those fun. dorks at the Grammys. Here’s their latest, “I’ll Be The Fire.” The band’s Go North EP is due July 16 on New Professor.
As promised, a Ryan Adams cover by yrs truly. Recorded live, quickly, because I have to go sell old Magic cards. Cheers.
