No one’s ever called me a hipster in real life, believe it or not.

I don’t dress as well as the photos I reblog but generally people compliment me on my shoes, on my better days, if they say anything at all. I imagine it’s from the circa-2008 collision of Brooklyn flannel bros and the proto-#menswear heritage movement. I would say something like, “I try to dress well to show respect for the people around me. Why do you get dressed?” After this point, asking if their mom still lays out their pants every morning is fair game.

(I love that you said “wear menswear,” as if you were wearing a dress or whatever before you discovered style blogs.)
